Before I spend the time setting it up, I'd like to know if there is any interest is such a game.
On my own forum, I have a fantasy game based on D&D (even though I've never played D&D). It doesn't have a lot of players, but they seem to enjoy it.
It's a typical fantasy game with elves, dwarves, and the like, but I can probably change it to be pony based. I probably won't do that, so don't get your hopes up if that's what you want. Rather than having each player take a turn, all players may post what they want their character to do. After a few posts, I'll post what happened with each attack, and have enemies attack players. This is much easier than having each player take a turn and end up waiting for one player to make his/her turn that isn't going to happen. Because this is an online game, I can't trust players to roll their own dice, so I roll them all instead. This also helps as not everyone has dice.
That's the general idea of the game, though there's plenty I neglected to mention. Let me know if you're interested or simply have any questions. I'm more than happy to elaborate.

I'd LOVE to do a D&D style RP. I don't have a pony OC either so I think this would be right up my alley. I only ever played parts of 2 campaigns of D&D before but they were both fun. I'm even willing to scour the forum of people I don't really know yet, fishing for recruits if we need more players.

I almost forgot I posted this here. Sadly, I posted this nearly two months ago and you're the only person to show any interest. One person simply isn't enough for me to bother making the game. Not to mention how tedious it would be to make it pony based. I'm having a hard enough time fixing the broken game mechanics of an ongoing game on another forum. Mostly the length of dungeons, actually.
Still, with enough interest, I will gladly make it here.

I used to play D&D with my dad, actually playing was fun, but I remember how tedious it was to make a character, so I don't know...

I never saw this. I'd like to do a D&D style game.... or just D&D. Always wanted to play it.

Character creation in D&D can be quite difficult, especially if you've never played it before. That's why in my game, the only character creation is name, race, and gender. Only one of which actually matters. I find having a large list of races and classes to be annoying, and having only certain races being able to be certain classes is just silly. If I want a dwarf to sneak around in heavy armor casting fire balls, I should be able to! Besides, I'll need more than just myself to make a decent game with customizable stats and such. The only stats are health, mana, maybe stamina, spell and weapon strength and effects, and armor strength and effects.

I tried a campaign once and just character creation alone took us a day. A streamlined version like this sounds awesome. I've never DM'ed before but I you want I could try and set something up or help you set up Lula. It'd be sub-par but hopefully decent.

Oh, I'm not saying it wasn't fun. Just maybe a little too cumbersome to do in a forum.

I could definitely use some help.
The game I have on another forum is a mess. I keep forgetting what certain things do because players don't use them that often, among other problems. The main problem I'm having with that game is the dungeons are too long. It started in May and we're only on dungeon 3/6.
I don't want character creation to be as difficult as D&D, but I do want it more difficult than the other game: name, race (four available), and class (three available). No customized stats or skills, just those three things. Boring to say the least.
The game also has some balancing issues, but those shouldn't be too hard to fix, especially with help.

I'm definitely down to help if you ever want to start one up here.

I want to, but I also don't. I don't want to run two games at the same time, and I'm too lazy to really work on it.

I can definitely understand that. I have to battle my inner sloth every day. Most of the time I either lose or we strike a lack-luster compromise... procrastination.

Well, I'm sure we can plan things out. "A rushed game is forever bad. A delayed game is eventually good." Or something like that.
