Hey guys! I've put this off long enough. I've seen pretty much every episode of New Who at least twice now but I have very little knowledge or experience with the Original Doctor Who series and have been wanting to catch up on it for a while. I just don't really know where the best place is to start. I mean, there are tons of stories and episodes of varying importance and quality. Any one have like an episode list or know which season I should start with?

I started watching it a long time ago on netflix. Sadly since bbc has lost most of their episodes there is only one story about the first doctor and it isn't very good.
The second doctor is a bit more funny but didn't like him too much either, plus there aren't that many eps of him too.
Now the third doctor and the fourth one are jewels!!! the are A.W.E.S.O.M.E. and nothing more. There are quite a few eps about them so I recommend you start from the 3rd doctor and up.
Unfortunately I haven't seen from doctor 5 and up, had too many things in my life and put it on hiatus and then forgot till now.
hope this was helpfull

I found a site a few years ago with every episode of Old Who, save for a few episodes in season four or something. Every other missing episode still had its audio, so it wasn't too bad, especially since they were animated. I was only able to watch season one before the site got a C&D.

Aww, I was so hoping you had a site besides Netflix I could use. Guess I'll have to either shell out some cash or go with less than legal websites.

oh my goodness yes
Okay, I must say, Classic Doctor Who is my passion and in my opinion surpresses New Who in some ways. Like somebody said before, Tom Baker is a fairly wonderful place to start. I do recommend Patrick Troughton and Sylvester McCoy (especially in his last season X3) too. Troughton practically invented what the Doctor is to us now. McCoy is pretty good if you're looking for something darker than New Who.
Here's a list of a couple of my favorites:
Tomb of the Cybermen (Troughton)
City of Death (Baker)
Curse of Fenric (McCoy)

Not yet, I recently been on a YouTube watching spree and I'm not just now coming out of it. If I can find a good site to watch it I'll definitely start.
